HCV/Section 8 Waitlist Closes May 31st

The Elkhart Housing Authority will close its Housing Choice Voucher program waiting list effective on 5/31/2025. The waiting list will remain open for Foster Youth Initiative (FYI) applications, Foster Youth Initiative (FYI) voucher transfers to a Housing Choice Voucher, and emergency transfers from Public Housing under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

The monthly lottery on our website on the first business day of the month for a program application will no longer be held after May 2025. We will notify the public through local newspapers, our website, and on-site postings when the waitlist will reopen as that information becomes available.
