MONTHLY APPLICATION LOTTERY
Rental Assistance

ELKHART HOUSING AUTHORITY WILL DISTRIBUTE 50 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (Section 8) APPLICATIONS MONTHLY BY LOTTERY TO ASSIST LOW INCOME FAMILIES.

  • The Housing Choice Voucher Program will hand out TICKETS from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM on the 1st business day of the month.
  • Fifty tickets will be drawn randomly, and ticket numbers will be posted at the close of the business day.
  • Ticket holders must check their ticket number on the posting to determine if they will receive an application.
  • The applications will be made available between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, the second business day of the month, to holders of winning tickets. 

THE AGENCY WILL NOT VERIFY WINNING TICKETS BY PHONE
If you have a winning ticket and have a schedule conflict that does not allow you to pick up the ticket or application, it is recommended that you have another adult pick up the ticket or application. No tickets or applications will be provided after the cut-off time.

The HCV Program reserves the right to hand out more or less than fifty applications. This will only occur if notice has been posted in the lobby of the Elkhart Housing Authority at least ten (10) days prior to the issue date. All applications must be returned by the last business day of the month the application was issued. Applications past this date will not be accepted. Only one application to adult or family will be allowed.

Tickets will be available on the 1st Business day of the month between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
Applications for winning tickets will be handed out the 2nd Business day of the month between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM at: The Elkhart Housing Authority, 1396 Benham Avenue, Elkhart, IN

50 tickets will be randomly drawn. You must present your winning ticket to receive an application. ANY ADULT can pick up your ticket or application. Dates may be subject to change.
