General Maintenance Technician  

Under the direction of the Department Director, this position is responsible for the general maintenance, repairs, and rehabilitation of units, equipment, and property. This position must complete all assigned work orders in accordance with PHAS standards. This position has rotating on-call responsibilities.

Custodian  

Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, this position is responsible for the general maintenance, repairs, and rehabilitation of high-rise units, equipment, and property.  This position must complete all assigned work orders in accordance with NSPIRE standards.

​​Asset Property Manager 

This salaried position is responsible for leasing and addressing tenant and maintenance concerns at assigned properties in compliance with the Elkhart Housing Authority (EHA) and Housing Urban Development’s (HUD) management regulations, policies and procedures. To continuously ensure that all residents are certified to be eligible public housing tenants.

Groundskeeper

This position is under the direction of the Department Director, or the department supervisor in the director’s absence. This position is responsible for the general upkeep of grounds and minor exterior repairs at all Elkhart Housing Authority properties. Responsible for small motor repairs. Assists with other maintenance tasks such as move-outs, make-readies, graffiti removal, smoke detector and light bulb replacements as needed.

​Pest Control Position

Provide direct pest control to all family units, high-rises, offices, and facilities owned by the Elkhart Housing Authority. Assist the maintenance department with development, planning, and application of overall pest control measures in these areas. Manage and verify pest control stock by routine inspections of inventory and minimize inventory loss by implementing electronic or manual tracking devices. To ensure all properties owned by the Elkhart Housing Authority are inspected and treated for pests every nine (9) weeks on a rotating basis. Assure pest control measures conform to EHA standards and are compliant with state laws.  Other duties as assigned.   Must have an active Indiana 7A license.
